"Emotion in Motion" opens at AV Framing Gallery on Friday, November 2.
Artist Statement:
"I believe to appreciate art is to appreciate the vision - the will to create something beautiful from an innate spirit to inspire all who experience it. Not only focusing on the form and action of the painting, I help the viewer to acknowledge the reaction - the overwhelming sense of being consumed by what they are viewing: terror, intimacy, sympathy, joy, sadness and humility. Depicting emotion in its purest state, untouched and frozen is the ultimate endeavor.
My work gives a visual narrative of an emotional documentary full of inspirational accounts. I aim to make connections with virtual strangers by transforming trauma into texture and accomplishment into luminous hues squeezed from the soul. Seemingly insignificant moments are brought candidly to the canvas, nothing too minute or overwhelming is left out of my work. The good and the bad. One canvas after another, I've found we all have more in common than many may think."
