"Artists create glorious objects when they incorporate their life experiences into a personal vocabulary, expressive of their own particular, splendid being. What I make is a mirror of who I am, so when I speak for myself, the message rings true and sincere."
Contemporary artist, sculptor and woodturner Betty Scarpino is recognized as one of the masters of the genre. Her work is held in private, public and museum collections throughout the world.
Scarpinos sculptures show in many of the top art and design museums in the nation, including the Smithsonian Institution, Renwick Gallery of the National Museum of American Art.
For her recent Creative Renewal Fellowship, Scarpino has created woodcut prints with the same sensual fluidity of her sculpture. AV Framing Gallery is proud to introduce these stunning pieces.
